We are looking for a part-time sales gallery assistant for a busy east-end art gallery. The role is primarily a sales and administrative position so excellent organisation, communication and computer skills are required. Being sales-driven and being able to competently work under pressure are essential. The position also involves regular exhibition installation so an understanding and experience in handling and hanging art works would be ideal but training will be given. We are looking for someone confident, very organised and efficient as you will be in charge of a demanding administrative workload, liaising with artists, reaching sales targets, ensuring the success of the events held at the gallery. We do not necessarily require previous experience in the art world, but we are looking for someone with the right experience who is able to take initiative and has good multitasking skills.
The position is for around 28 hours a week with a starting salary of £8/hour. As part of a small team, we do ask for flexibility and adaptability regarding responsibilities and working hours, as you will be required to work some week-ends and be available on some evenings for preview events.
